October 29, 2012 – November 2, 2012
Parent Observations and Teacher Conferences
Parent observation week is scheduled for October 29 through November 2, 2012. Sign up sheets will be located in the office for parents to select one 30-minute observation period in their child’s classroom. Two adults per 30-minute block can attend in each classroom.
A separate sign up sheet for a 15-minute parent/teacher conference will be set out as well. These appointments will take place either on the weekend or during after school hours following the observation week. Please note conference appointments can only be made if at least one of the student’s parents has come to observe in the classroom. Thank you for your cooperation.

International Children’s Day
On Friday, October 26, 2012, the children should arrive at school at the regular time, dressed in ethnic clothing of their heritage.
The noon performance of songs in several languages will be followed by a buffet lunch. Parents should arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. to allow time to park, which for most, will be in the neighborhood. Families are invited to attend the lunch for which they are asked to prepare a typical dish of their culture to share with others. A small card should accompany the dish to indicate the country of origin as well as a list of ingredients so that those with food allergies and dietary restrictions can choose their dishes accordingly.
A sign-up sheet to indicate the number of guests attending and name of dish will be placed in the office closer to the date of the event.
We also ask parents to inform the office if they are available for set-up before and clean up after the lunch.
We look forward to sharing this unique occasion with the children and their families.
